In accordance with the GDPR, you have the following rights with regard to the processing of your personal data:

Contacting Us
On our website, we offer you the opportunity to contact us, either by email and/or by using a contact form. In such event, information provided by the user is stored for the purpose of facilitating communications with the user. No data is transferred to third parties. Nor is any of this information matched to any information that may be collected by other components of our website.

Server log files
This website is operated on behalf of the ZBW in the scope of performing their tasks in the public interest in accordance with Article 6 (1) (e) of the GDPR in conjunction with Section 2 of the Foundation Formation Statute of the ZBW [Stiftungserrichtungsgesetz der ZBW, StiftZBWErG SH]. In order to safeguard the security of the processing, the contractor will record personal data in server logfiles if you access this website and use its services. In that context, the following data may be processed temporarily:

• IP address and internet service provider;
• date and time of the page view;
• address of the viewed page and address of the page referring to the viewed page (referrer);
• name and version of the used browser and the operating system.

The server logfiles will be stored on the system as long as necessary for achieving the relevant purpose, usually for 8 weeks. The IP address will be stored anonymised. In principle, personal data contained in these logfiles will not be passed on to third parties. In the case of attacks to the IT infrastructure, we will use this data for pursuing our rights and for prosecution, if necessary.

YES! – Young Economic Summit offers a free newsletter subscription that is managed by the European mail service provider MailJet (Rankestr. 21, 10789 Berlin, Germany). In order to sign up, you will only be asked to leave your email address, that will be sent to MailJet where it will be stored in accordance with European and German data privacy laws. MailJet undertakes all pertinent precautions in order to preserve the security of the data and, in particular, to protect them against any accidental or unlawful destruction, accidental loss, corruption, unauthorized circulation or access, as well as against any other form of unlawful processing or disclosure to unauthorized persons. After your registration, you will receive a mail for subscription confirmation.

MailJet does also offer analytics functions that show which and how many mails have been sent and opened if mailings have bounced or which mails caused users to unsubscribe. Social Media

By reason of its legal mandate, the ZBW maintains close relations with scientific institutions, scientists at home and abroad, practical business, and with national and international institutions of research and information provision.

The ZBW is active in social media networks in order to engage with our target group, to advert them to our services, and to share information with them.

The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) prescribes legal standards in particular for the usage of service providers not based in the EU. In these cases, your personal data will possibly be transferred to the USA and processed there. American companies have engaged to comply with EU data protection standards by means of the EU-US Privacy Shield. You can find more information about this at https://www.privacyshield.gov.

Service providers normally use personal data for purposes of market research and advertising. For this, cookies are installed on your computer that record your usage behaviour which can be used to compile user profiles. If you are logged in to one of these networks before accessing this website, your usage behaviour can be matched to your corresponding account.

Video conferencing
The ZBW uses video conferencing services to conduct meetings, events, webinars or conference calls. Personal data are processed during these virtual meetings. The type of data depends on what you provide to the service provider before or during the meeting. These may include the following data:Personal data: first name, name, email address, password, phone number, profile image
Meeting data: name and description of the meeting, IP addresses, device information
Phone dial-up: phone numbers, connection dataIf chat functions are used, your text inputs will be processed and saved, if applicable, until they are deleted manually. If audio and video functions are used, the image from your video camera and the sound from your device will be transmitted via the servers of the service provider and processed for conferencing. You can deactivate your camera and microphone yourself in the settings at any time during a conference. Video conferencing services offer recording options. The ZBW usually does not record conferences. Should the ZBW deviate from this in individual cases, you will be informed in advance and your permission will be requested if necessary.The legal basis for the processing of personal data during video conferencing is Article 6 section 1 lit e. of the GDPR in junction with § 2 of the law for the establishment of the foundation ZBW (StiftZBWErG SH). The ZBW processes personal data of employees in accordance with § 15 section 1 of the Data Protection Act of the State of Schleswig-Holstein (LDSG Schleswig-Holstein). The ZBW has concluded a data processing agreement with Telekom for the use of Cisco Webex, which conforms to Art. 28 DSGVO. Cisco is a subcontractor of Telekom. It was determined that only European data centres will be used for the video conferences. The servers are located in Germany, the company lern.link GmbH operates and supervises the technical aspects of the video conference server on behalf of the ZBW. Information/Cancellation/Deletion
On the basis of the Federal Data Protection Act, you may contact us at no cost if you have questions relating to the collection, processing or use of your personal information, if you wish to request the correction, blocking or deletion of the same, or if you wish to cancel explicitly granted consent. Please note that you have the right to have incorrect data corrected or to have personal data deleted, where such claim is not barred by any legal obligation to retain this data.

Operation of the “YES! Campus” learning platform
The company lern.link GmbH operates and supervises the technical aspects of this learning platform (available at https://campus.young-economic-summit.org) on behalf of the ZBW. The ZBW has entered into an agreement on commissioned data processing (in compliance with Article 28 of the GDPR) with that company. The personal data will be processed in a German data processing centre. Please contact the platform provider directly in order to obtain information from the provider or to exercise your rights in relation to the provider. Registration and use of the learning platform
When registering on this learning platform, you enter with the ZBW into a contract as defined by Article 6 (1) (b) of the GDPR. This contract shall form the legal basis for the processing of your personal data.

The following personal data will be processed when using the platform:

• title, name, surname
• gender
• legal age of majority
• email address
• self-chosen password
• enrolment with a school/institution
• course evaluation (e.g. access time, session duration, test results)
• your contributions in forums or chats, your contributions to wikis.

Your name and email address are required for administering your participation. Indicating your gender is required for statistical purposes and planning hotel bookings. The enrolment with a school/institution is required for administering the team membership. The mentioned contributions serve for the exchange with other participants.

Your personal data will be combined in a usage profile and you may access it at any time in your profile settings. The personal data will be stored until you delete your account. Personal data of pupils will generally be stored until the end of the current project year. After prior consultation with the data subjects, personal data of teachers and researchers may be transferred to the following project year.

Parts of your personal data, such as name, surname, contributions in forums or chats and contributions to wikis may possibly be noted by other participants in the YES! competition. The course evaluations are visible only for a restricted group of participants and for the YES! team. After the end of any project year, the mentioned contributions to forums, chats and wikis will either be anonymised or erased.

Your personal data will generally not be passed on to uninvolved third parties, unless the ZBW is required by law to pass it on.

Emails
If you send us an email, your email address will be used exclusively for the correspondence with you. We will not use it otherwise and will not pass it on to third parties. We further indicate that emails sent without encryption may be read or even falsified by authorised parties.

Automated decision-making and profiling
The ZBW will not carry out any automated decision-making in individual cases, including profiling, in accordance with Article 22 of the GDPR.
